Just now while checking the “Personalized Google Homepage”:http://www.google.com/ig I set up as part of writing “last night’s post”:http://www.onedegree.ca/2005/05/19/google-the-portal, I noticed Google’s “word of the day” was:
bq. presage: an omen; also, to predict.
And the “quote of the day” was:
bq. The people I distrust most are those who want to improve our lives but have only one course of action. – Frank Herbert
It’s good to see that the folks at Google haven’t lost their sense of humour.
And while we’re looking for hidden meaning, has anyone figured out why the personalized home page is in a folder called “ig”? iGoogle?
No thoughts on this from “John”:http://battellemedia.com/ or “Om”:http://gigaom.com/ yet. Then again, Om disagrees and says “that humor is not part of the daily routine at Google HQ”:http://gigaom.com/2005/05/20/great-unexpectations/.
