Editor's Note: This WIR could also be called the "Better Late than Never" edition. We were having so much fun in Banff (I blame the thin mountain air) that OneDegree was left unattended for a few days. Our apologies to Leona, curator this week, who totally got her part in on time.

New Contributors This Past Week

We're excited to have two new contributors this past week. The lovely and talented Jayne Hoogenberk, community manager for eHarlequin's online community who debuted with her tips for relationship building in communities, and the intrepid Erin Raimondo who is spending the summer as LintBucket Media's (publisher of OneDegree) intern – her first piece was on the most dangerous keywords. Welcome to both of you!!

This week's WIR curator is Leona Hobbs. She tumbles at tumbleona and tweets as flackadelic.

Well, TGIF eh folks? Phew, what a week! I don't know about you, but I'm about ready to chill out and catch up on the wide world of digital communications and social media. Won't you join me?

Off the Top

There's a new search engine in town called Bing. According to the 60-second TV spot (produced by JWT), "Search Overload is Over". The Wall Street Journal reports, Microsoft is spending $80-$100 meeelion dollars to support the new search engine, "designed to make hunting for online information easier."

Happy 25th Birthday Tetris! Hands down, one of the best video games of all time.

B.L. Ochman's weblog brings us the tale of how the combo of social media monitoring and community helped Starbucks survive a brand attack.
