DoubleClick just released their “Q1 2005 Email Trend Report”:http://emea.doubleclick.com/WEB_ADMIN/documents/dc_Q1_05%20EMEA%20email%20trend%20report.pdf (PDF).
Here’s the executive summary:
bq.. Amidst an increasingly difficult deliverability environment, delivery rates reached an all-time high of 91% in Q1 2005 indicating that companies are making strides with list hygiene, address collection and subscription forms. Open rates for emails continued to show a gradual decline and click-through rates dipped this quarter.
The decreasing open rate trend is indicative of a widespread adoption of image blocking by email clients which impacts open rate measurement.
However, the relatively stable click-through rate trend shows that subscribers that open emails are continuing to click on calls to action despite industry challenges with spam.
