Color me skeptical when it comes to new graphics technology. I tend to prefer that my new hardware goes towards building seamless worlds, more elaborate gameplay concepts or more bustling environments: 4K resolution has always seemed, to me, like not much bang for a tremendous lot of buck where my gaming experience is concerned. It’s the reason I was never too enthusiastic about the PS4 Pro, and it’s the reason why I was only slightly more interested in the much beefier Xbox One X, out this week. I carried that skepticism with me as I plugged my new machine in on Tuesday, but it really is something when you’re looking the thing in the face. The Xbox One X is the most powerful console on the market, and that’s pretty clear when you start to play.
Whether it’s to “bring the world closer together” or improve its public image, Facebook today announced Community Boost. Facebook tells me it’s investing tens of millions of dollars into the program that will travel to 30 cities around the U.S. in 2018. It will teach digital job skills to the unemployed, internet literacy to those just getting online, startup methodology to entrepreneurs and customer growth to small business owners.

The job: Search-Engine Optimization (SEO) marketer
The role: When you type a query into a search engine, it uses a complex algorithm to provide you with the best possible results. The role of an SEO marketer is to land their employer, company or client as high up on those search results pages as possible.
“Ultimately we convince search engines that we provide the best answer to a question someone might ask,” said Tony Tie, a senior SEO specialist for travel website Expedia. “If you’re number one, if you’re higher up on [the results page], people are more likely to click on you, which leads to more transactions.”
“There are two types of people who will tell you that you cannot make a difference in this world: those who are afraid to try and those who are afraid you will succeed.”
