Canada should look to its past and Europe for guidance on media policy — but not south

Seventy years ago, Canadian leaders turned away from the British model of media policy that rejected advertising-supported private broadcasting. While it’s gone well for a few private corporations, it hasn’t benefited the Canadian public. And the future heralds an even more dangerous American-style media landscape here in Canada.

The video says “The World Health Organization estimates that over 121 million people worldwide suffer from some form of depression.” The National Institute of Mental Health reported that in 2017, “An estimated 17.3 million adults in the United States had at least one major depressive episode…7.1% of all U.S. adults.”

Lawsuit of the Week: B.C. marketing firm claims ex-employees stole its customers

Antarctica Digital Marketing Inc., which does business as Future Flow Media (FFM), alleges several former employees stole its proprietary information and used it to launch a new business. It also alleges the new business – Ardent Strategies LLC, which does business as Source Path Digital – emailed its customers to claim FFM was operating under the Source Path Digital name.
