Canadian Election and Social Media
Interested in following the election via online channels and social media? There are a number of places where you can do so:
- NetPrimeMinister.ca is a
project by UBC journalism students tracking the online conversations of
the next Prime Minister of Canada. They are pulling in all the parties
feeds plus feeds from other blogs. Very nice. - Hill & Knowlton’s Election Predictor and Election Predictor Blog
- Fleishman Hillard has an Election 2008 blog
where their political experts weigh in with different opinions about
the different parties. There’s some serious analysis going on here! - rabble.ca has a blog covering the 2008 Canadian election
- electopinion.ca has a great looking site that pulls the tweets about all the different political parties. Nice one!
- Rob Cottingham over at Social Signal has an awesome, updated analysis of what’s happening with the federal parties in the upcoming Canadian election
- Buzz Bishop’s series on Social Media and the Canadian Campaign
- Kate Trgovac’s got a review of the major parties and their use of social media.

This Week’s Video Meme
Of course it’s election related. I like the Great Schlep video because it’s all about exerting influence on a niche group – kinda like marketers hope to do. (Note: I actually wanted to use something from This Hour Has 22 Minutes, but CBC doesn’t let you embed their videos. Grrr.)

Thanks for the welcome. It is cool be among such great company.
