Alien life is probably a lot more similar to human life than you would expect. That’s according to a paper that was recently published in the International Journal of Astrobiology. The paper, written by scientists at the University Of Oxford, claims that life on other planets would be subject to natural selection just like organisms on planet Earth. If organisms are affected by natural selection, then it’s likely that they share some similar characteristics, so the aliens out there could, therefore, share common traits with earthlings. This is despite the fact that many of these worlds are not carbon-based like Earth.
