For me, 2005 will be remembered as the year my feedreader exploded. There is a lot of great content out there. Of course, great content existed prior to 2005, but this was the year where small content publishers took advantage of RSS to reach niche markets and Main Stream Media seemed to finally buy in. According to “PEW’s recent survey of Internet usage”:http://www.pewinternet.org/pdfs/PIP_SearchData_1105.pdf (links to PDF), search is now the second most popular Internet activity, edging towards email as the primary Internet application.
Search usage jumped dramatically from 30% of American Internet users in June 2004 to 41% in September of 2005.
Earlier today Google announced Google Analytics their now integrated, updated, and rebranded version of Urchin, the web analytics firm they acquired earlier this year. Read more…
